046: bonfire

late day surf, sun going down. josie up on the beach with fire pit claimed. our stretch of sand, and the golden stretch of sun and warmth continues. cooler full of beer and sausages. grill. friends arriving. a christmas tree and a hobby horse. night falls. the tree burns. more beer.

paulo L arrives with baby less than two months old attached to his chest. bold move given the flames, transients, and drunkards leaping around our site. give the homeless dudes a beer and a hot dog and you have a best friend forever. or at least for a few minutes. the cold and damp arrives. we head off to the fireside lounge in the inner sunset for more inside drinking. “you smell of campfire, darling.”

boxee: the open, connected, social media center for mac os x and linux

I have it hooked up to an 24″ full HD monitor and stereo in my living room. That and the EyeTV Hybrid HD Tuner, a bunch of DivX new releases and that’s my main TV. Not like having a 42″ screen or anything, but I don’t watch much anyway.

045: rooftop

Found out recently we have rooftop access. two floors up and wow, what a view. now I do my surf checks via binoculars. we’ll be spending more time up there for sure when the weather is good, like it has been.

surfed today before work. clean but small and weak. pretty bad actually, not much coming through down at VFW’s. I think with a fish I would have had much more luck. reminded me of surfing good harbor beach back home on a waist high day. and boy oh boy was it cold. it’s all relative. I need a new suit, the old 4/3 is giving up the ghost. then rode the bike the seven and a half to work. a biathalon of sorts.
